Organisation: Sussex Learning Network

Purpose: The development of e-learning materials for the Foundation degree in Policing in Partnership with Communities offers opportunities for wider involvement, as some modules address issues relevant to any study of community development. These include learning from experience in a social context, personal interaction in diverse communities, communications, conflict and tranquility in communities. This action research project aims to develop the capability to support learners
by using blended learning materials to create more flexible learning pathways to Foundation degree accreditation. This includes developing volunteer HE, FE and work-based staff to design flexible learning pathways and to support learners using e-learning as part of their blend of learning materials. We intend to engage with a wider network involved in the ongoing development of materials and processes, and to develop a documented process for tutors supporting learners using blended learning, as part of a course framework that provides access to accreditation through flexible learning pathways. This will increase flexibility in timing and pacing of learning for existing learners
and provide the potential to widen participation to include part-time students.
