Description:

The Public Accounts Committee report (‘Staying the course: the retention of students on higher education courses’, March 2008) showed some of the complex issues surrounding retention of students.

It suggested more emphasis on teaching and support services which ‘appropriately reflect students' different cultural, social and economic backgrounds’.
