SUMMARY OF TOPICS RAISED
We aim to Share and improve practice among LLN practitioners, promote IAG and influence national agendas, identify opportunities to work across boundaries, share training and achieve economies of scale. Meetings are an ideal networking opportunity. Topics covered to date:
Gill Scott of GMSA reported on the JISC funded project Exchanging Course Related Information (XCRI) and Trish Judson ( MOVE) provided updates on this. The system may be available to all in due course.
Janet Graham reported on the key work at policy and practice level being undertaken by of Supporting Professionalism in Admissions (SPA). Also discussed changes to UCAS entry profiles and how LLNs could influence HEIs to make their profiles more welcoming to LLN learners..
Heather Jackson, adviser to the National IAGReview, outlined plans for the new universal adult careers service in the context of Leitch implementation plans, its implications for LLN learners and ways to influence the emerging plans for the national service, with special regard to staff training
We have agreed to sharing of “client” resources, thanks to a lead from Sussex LLN and Higher York . Also discussed examples of bridging and transition courses
Possible future topics: nextstep service that delivers HE advice; learndirect and HE; SSCs and IAG training for admissions staff.
